A Persian sword
"The highly stylized form of this Persian sword is particular to the Amlash region in northwestern Iran. This is a very special piece, with the blade’s widening shape meeting at the handle’s handsome decorations. We see the blade is worn halfway down, indicating that this sword did not sit idly.
This sword dates from the Iron Age 1200 B.C.E. - 586 B.C.E., a time when force was often more important than one’s oratory skills. It is a beautiful and highly individual example of the early work of an Amlash forge. It is interesting to note that whoever made this piece was not content with a regular weapon, so he made it into a really superb example of ancient craft at its finest."
