A Bronze Coin of Masada, the First Jewish Revolt, Set in a Beautiful 18k Gold Pendent

DESCRIPTION:

The bronze coin is a relic of the first Jewish revolt against the ruling Roman contingent in ancient Judaea, from 66 AD – 73 AD. At the beginning of the revolt, the Jewish city of Masada pressed coins for local circulation in defiance of Rome’s rule over the region. The faint characters of the Paleo-Hebrew alphabet can be seen on the obverse side, reading Shekel, Israel. The reverse side translates to “Jerusalem the Holy,” a reference to the city’s role as the capital of Judaea and its connection to the Jewish people. This historical coin dates from approximately 67 AD, and is set elegantly in a custom 18k gold pendant.
